The Low-Income Energy Assistance program provides grants to eligible Toronto residents who are behind on their hydro payments and are receiving assistance from Ontario Works (OW) or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).
The program operates as a partnership between the City of Toronto, Neighbourhood Information Post (NIP) and the following partner agencies:
Program Criteria
Residents may be eligible for energy assistance if they:
- Are living in Toronto
- Are within low-income guidelines.
- Have recently received a “past due” Toronto hydro bill and/or;
- Have received a disconnection notice from the utility provider
- Can satisfy other program requirements*
*Please note that meeting program criteria listed above does not guarantee a grant approval.
