The Emergency Energy Fund program provides grants to eligible Toronto residents who are behind on their hydro or gas payments and are not receiving assistance from Ontario Works (OW) or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).
Program Criteria
Residents may be eligible for energy assistance if they:
- Are living in Toronto
- Are within low-income guidelines and not in receipt of social assistance*
- Have recently received a “past due” Toronto hydro bill and/or;
- Have received a disconnection notice from the utility provider
- Can satisfy other program requirements**
*Social assistance recipients can contact their Ontario Works (OW) or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) office to ask about the Housing Stabilization Fund.
**Please note that meeting program criteria listed above does not guarantee a grant approval.
Additional documentation may be required.
